The Stargate Project, a major endeavor to strengthen the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in the United States, was announced by President Donald Trump on January 21, 2025.

MGX, Oracle, SoftBank, and OpenAI are partners in this project, which is expected to invest up to $500 billion over the course of the next four years.

A $100 billion upfront investment will be made to build AI data centers in Texas as part of the project’s first phase. In the US, this development is anticipated to generate more than 100,000 new jobs.

Stargate’s chairman will be Masayoshi Son, the CEO of SoftBank. Financial matters will be handled by SoftBank, and operations will be managed by OpenAI. The following are important technology partners: Oracle, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Arm, and OpenAI.
